KimLenswomanPhotographer Writer (Kim Gottlieb-Walker in her First Life) is a Second Life import artist who displays original photos of celebrities from the 60s and 70s.
KinLenswomanPhotographer owns Kim Gottlieb-Walker's 1960's & 70's Counter-Culture Photo Gallery which features 100s of her photographs from throughout her First Life career. On the first floor, she displays photographs of Rock & Roll icons (Jimi Hendrix, Gram Parsons, Jerry Garcia, George Harrision, Joni Mitchell, etc), popular culture icons (Andy Warhol, Dr. Spock, Andrew Weill, etc) and literary, political and science fiction creators. On the second floor, photos of Reggae in the mid-70's (Bob Marley and many others), the early films of John Carpenter and a special exhibit room (currently featuring the celebrity guests from the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con) are on display. A separate room on the ground floor provides information about the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE-the union covering all the below-the-line crew on motion pictures and tv). The roof of her gallery is a park complete with romantic animations and is surrounded by murals of New York City's Central Park.
Biography
Kim Gottlieb-Walker graduated from UCLA in the late 1960’s with a BA in Motion Picture Production. She shot stills for numerous magazines including Music World, Feature, Rolling Stone, Newsweek and People. She worked in the mid-seventies shooting for Island Records, covering reggae performers all over Jamaica. She has worked for over 25 years as a unit still photographer on motion pictures and television, including the early John Carpenter movies (“Halloween,” “The Fog,” Christine,” “Escape from New York” and “Halloween II”) as well as “Cheers” (for 9 years), “Family Ties” (for 5 years), “Star Trek -The Next Generation and Deep Space 9” and “Bob” (Bob Newhart’s last show) for Paramount television and Steven Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories” at Universal.
She is an elected representative for Still Photographers on the National Executive Board of the International Cinematographer’s Guild, IATSE Local 600.
